A Cappella Arranging

Love A Cappella but never knew how the beautiful arrangements came about? This might need a little more enthusiasm to keep you going, but it is definitely the one for passionate arrangers-to-be. 

ARRANGEMENT STAGE ONE (6-month course)

Class size: 3-4

(a short briefing about the course will be given before the commencement of class, to allow them to understand what they will be learning)

Duration: 1.5hours, 2 times a week

Lesson syllabus:

  • Basic Music Theory
  • Basic Keyboard Skills
  • Analyzing and understanding A Cappella arrangements and techniques
  • 3-4 part writing




ARRANGEMENT STAGE TWO (6-month course)

Class size: 3-4

(Only students who complete Arranging stage 1 will proceed on to stage 2)

Duration: 1.5hours, 2 times a week

Lesson syllabus:

  • Basic jazz theory
  • 5-6 part writing
  • Arranging pop/jazz standards for full-fledged A Cappella groups
  • Final Test


Students who have completed Arranging Stages will be given a certificate that will be recognized in their portfolio for future purposes.

Students will also have the chance to be signed as a contract arranger.
